Hey Ya’ll
Welcome to The Grub Zone. I’m Karson and I’m the creator of The Grub Zone. When I’m not in the backyard making some delicious BBQ, I’m probably at my day job being a Wildland Firefighter. If you don’t know what that is, no worries, we’re the ones who put out forest fires like you see in the Western U.S. during the summer. My job takes up a lot of my time in the summer so I have to make up for it by BBQing like crazy in the fall winter and spring.
The first time I can remember being interested in cooking was all the way back in high school. I’m not sure what it was but I knew it was going to be a hobby of mine for a long time to come. Fast forward 15ish years and I’m still at it. Over the last fifteen years I’ve come to realize a couple things. The first is that I enjoy making BBQ a lot more than anything else. The second is that mastering BBQ is no easy feat. Now that I think about it, can anyone actually master the art of BBQ? Anyways, so about ten years ago I bought my first smoker and have been BBQing ever since. There has been plenty of mess-ups but like the old adage goes, practices perfect, or at least practice makes you better. During these last ten years I’ve been learning techniques, creating recipes, and BBQing a whole lot. I plan on doing a whole lot more of it too so if you’re interested, follow along and look around for some recipes to try out along with some tips, tricks and ways to help you take your BBQ game to the next level.
